JIM ROSS TALKS ABOUT MICK FOLEY, FANDANGO VS JERICHO, ROCK VS JOHN CENA, RIC FLAIR AND MORE

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has published a new blog entry on JrsBarBq.com. Here are some highlights.

Terry Funk Inducting Mick Foley: "Great choice by Mick Foley to select Terry Funk to induct Mr. Foley's baby boy at the 2013 WWE HOF induction ceremony. The Funker is Mick's mentor and idol. I think it's pretty cool when a Hall of Fame inductee can actually have their all time favorite wrestler, their father like figure within the business and their role model as it relates to in ring style and approach to the game induct them."

Ric Flair's Medical Situation: "Got a text from Ric Flair early this morning and Naitch is feeling great and has been provided medication to dissolve the blood clot that is in his leg. The doctor's are highly optimistic that the meds will do the trick and eliminate a potentially, dangerous issue. Ric and I will get together Wednesday evening in Jersey to catch up which is one of our WrestleMania traditions."

Fandango vs. Y2J: "Fandango is a lightning rod right now because many or perhaps a few vocal 'fans' don't like the TV persona even though they have yet to see it fully on display in a match of significance. I'm of the persuasion that I'll reserve my opinions until I actually see the talent get it on bell to bell. Chris Jericho is the perfect opponent to perform with Fandango at WM29 because Jericho is all about stealing the show ala the great @ShawnMichaels no matter Y2J's role. Fandango can also expect Jericho to beat the hell out of him along the way. Believe that!"

The Rock vs. John Cena: "Enjoying the serious nature that the Rock/Cena rivalry has taken the past few weeks and it is a departure from 2012 or so it seems to me. Closing a WrestleMania with such high expectations and having a 'different' match than last year are tremendous responsibilities notwithstanding the fact that the match is for the WWE Title which should be the primary issue. Cena vs. Rock is a target of varying levels of controversy from some fans but pales in comparison to what their own peers will place upon the show closers in their own matches at WM29."

CHRIS JERICHO RESPONDS TO CM PUNK'S INSULT

As we reported here on the site earlier today, CM Punk appeared at the Ringsidefest collectibles event in New York City over the weekend and took a shot at former WWE star Chris Jericho.

Chris Jericho has responded to Punk’s comment, tweeting the following on Monday afternoon::

CM PUNK COMMENTS ON WRESTLERS USING TWEETER

With Twitter such a big part in pro wrestling these days, CM Punk spoke with Gizmodo while in Australia last week about how wrestlers are using the social networking site these days. Here are some highlights:

WWHD?
“You know, I was so anti-Twitter for the longest time, because I like to try and stay old-school, and I’ve always tried to approach things in a ‘What Would Harley Race Do’ kinda way. Harley Race wouldn’t have a Twitter! Dick Murdoch wouldn’t have a Twitter! But then, if you really try and sit down and think about it — they didn’t have those things because they weren’t around then. I have the ability to be in contact with like 330,000 people — and that’s kinda wild! It’s like everybody knows what you are doing at every possible time. I will admit there’s a lot of stupidity on Twitter, but it’s really a fascinating tool.”

Separating in-character and out-of-character:
“Well, I think it’s quite easy for me. I’m not some crazy person who thinks, you know, I am not Phil Brooks anymore [CM Punk's real name] but I got into wrestling because I could pick a cool nickname and be a GI Joe guy! All the GI Joe guys had codenames – CM Punk is my codename. At the same time, I’m not playing someone. I’m not a phoney Russian! I’m not an astronaut, I’m not a clown, I’m a straight-edge kid from Chicago. I’m a pro wrestler.”

Is WWE worried about Punk on Twitter?
“I work Twitter like I work every day – I don’t have a filter between my mouth and my brain, I just spit stuff out. I do this on live tv and I do it on Twitter. I’ve yet to be reprimanded, but I’m probably getting a text right now! The WWE monitors it, and think that’s probably a good thing — we don’t want one of the Divas getting a stalker or something and that kind of thing is a reality. I’m glad they monitor it, but I’m really not too sure if they’re paying attention to me or not!”

ZACK RYDER TALKS ABOUT HIS ABSENCE IN RAW

Zack Ryder wondered for the second week in a row why he wasn’t featured on RAW last night. He wrote on Twitter:

“Pinned the US Champ @HEELZiggler 2 weeks in a row…& now I’ve been off Raw for 2 weeks in a row. #doesntmakesense


At least @LaRosaMendes was booked tonight… #RyderOrRiot”

Jim Ross wrote the following on Twitter after last night’s RAW:

ROAD DOGG BG JAMES RETURNING TO WWE

Former WWE and TNA Superstar “Road Dogg” BG James announced on Facebook this afternoon that he’s signed with WWE as an agent/producer. He wrote:


“Ok guys,if you dont know already,here goes;I have recently been hired,on a trial,6 week period,as an agent/producer with the WWE.Its the job Ive wanted and prayed about for a while now.He answered my prayers and now its my turn to repay Him w/my service.God bless you guys and have a great evening!”

It was recently reported that James was scouting talent in India for TNA, for a new television show that they are looking at producing.

VICKIE AND CHAVO WISHES EDDIE BIRTHDAY

On Sunday, both Vickie and Chavo Guerrero were remembering Eddie Guerrero, who would have turned 44 years old.

Vickie wrote of her late husband on Twitter, “Happy 44th Birthday Eddie! I love you and you are missed! Thank you to everyone showing your love and respect for Eddie. My daughters and I are humbled and grateful. If Eddie was here today, he would have had a feast of all his fav foods. He always knew how to have fun and celebrate his bday!!!”

Chavo wrote, “Today is Eddie’s birthday. 44yrs old. I miss him very much! I know many of u do too. Let’s celebrate in his honor! Missed but not forgotten!”

MARIA TO RETURN TO WWE?

Maria Kanellis stated this weekend on Twitter that she would only consider returning to WWE if she is given the opportunity to compete for a women’s championship.

“I have only one thing in my life that I regret and thats not getting to really fight for the Woman’s Championship. If I ever come back it would be for a belt,” she wrote in a response to a query regarding a possible return to the organization.

STEPHANIE MCMAHON'S REACTION TO NUDE PHOTOS

WWE’s live events website (www.wwelivetour.com) remains offline after nude images were published in the photo gallery on Wednesday.

The website featured an unmoderated section where fans are permitted to upload photos taken at live events. A nude photo of former WWE Diva Tiffany from her Playboy modeling days was uploaded to the website, garnering attention online. More tawdry images were uploaded including a graphic still of Chyna’s s genitalia from her 2004 adult film 1 Night in China, a photo depicting TNA Wrestling broadcasters Mike Tenay and Taz looking on with approval, and a photo of The Miz with lettering reading “I’d fap to that.”

Stephanie McMahon, who oversees the website, called an emergency meeting upon learning of the situation. “Everyone was said to be blaming everyone else,” according to the Wrestling Observer Newslette

RANDY ORTON TALKS ABOUT NOT WALKING OUT FROM RAW

Randy Orton, who was one of the WWE superstars who did not take part in the walkout that took place at the end of Monday’s RAW, tweeted the following on Thursday regarding the angle:

“Many of you have asked me where I stand with HHH’s vote of confidence. Undecided, so I will see all of u live from Oklahoma City for RAW…and someone will be on the receiving end of an RKO.”

REY MYSTERIO WILL BE MISSING MEXICO RAW

 Rey Mysterio tweeted on Thursday that he will not be traveling to Mexico next week’s for WWE’s upcoming tour of Mexico, which will include the first-ever RAW television taping from Mexico.

Mysterio, who recently underwent two knee surgeries, wrote (translated):

“Recovery is slow but effective, I am sorry that I will not be with you in Mexico for the recording of Raw.”

CM PUNK RETWEETS HIS RANT

 CM Punk re-tweeted his rant last night on Twitter without the cuss words. He wrote:“Retweeting rant sans cuss words for the kids. Also to piss people off and hear them tell me I’m soft. I am not Gandhi, I will kick your face.”

CM PUNK ISSUES STATEMENT ABOUT THIS WEEKS RAW

CM Punk, who was not at ringside for the walkout, wrote the following on his Twitter account this evening regarding last night’s RAW.

“I think a lot of people are missing the point. Fans and coworkers alike. Walking out is a pussy move. There’s a huge difference in what I did. I want change, and I can’t change shit from my couch. I’m in the fox hole. I’m getting it done. I stayed to fight and I’m fighting for change. You can protest, violently or peacefully without actually showing up. Walking out isn’t a solution at least not one that I’ve ever seen work. Hold ‘em up. Make them change. Don’t just walk out, or lay down. Fight. This goes for fans as well. Bored? JIM ROSS TALKS ABOUT WWE POLICY, LAWLER

Jim Ross wrote the following on Twitter this afternoon about Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole’s “anal bleeding” line from RAW:

“1. I expect king back for Raw & ‘perhaps’ HIAC..TBD, 2. The ‘anus’ line was Cole being cute therefore no anus updates are coming from me.”

Ross was also asked what he thought of referees not being mentioned on WWE TV, especially with the recent angles involving referees:

“It disturbs me greatly  Refs names haven’t been mentioned in a couple of years. Simple, company policy.”

PEOPLE'S EDITION CHOSEN FOR WWE '12

THQ was taking votes to release a special The People’s Edition or The Champ’s Edition of the upcoming WWE ’12 video game. Voting is now apparently over and The People’s Edition will be released. More details on special features in The Rock’s edition of WWE ’12 will be released in a few days.

The Rock commented on Twitter:

CM Punk wrote on Twitter today that he got a flat tire and then had an altercation with a fan while trying to get the tire fixed. He wrote: “Tire fixed. Altercation with ignorant “fan” while I was on the phone. Awesome. Learn some manners y’all.”
