WWE PLANNING ENCYCLOPEDIA SEQUEL

WWE is planning to release a sequel to their WWE Encyclopedia book, which came out last year. The book ended up on the New York Times Bestseller’s list. The sequel will be written by Brian Shields and Kevin Sullivan, who wrote the first one.

 In the October issue of WWE Magazine, John Cena was asked if he’s eying Ric Flair’s record number of major singles titles held. Cena, who has 10 major title reigns, said:

“Not at all. I think one day at a time. In this business, I don’t think about what I’ve done or long-term plans. If you think about what you’ve done, you become complacent. If you think too far ahead, your vision gets a little cloudy. You truly have to think about it one day at a time.”

WWE TO RELEASE A DVD ON OMG INCIDENTS

 WWEDVDNews reports that WWE’s upcoming “OMG! The Top 50 Incidents in WWE History” DVD set is rated TV-14 and the blood is not censored throughout, as it is in other recent WWE DVD releases.

TRIPLE H TO RETURN AT NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS 2011?

September issue of WWE Magazine teases Triple H wrestling at Night of Champions. They wrote:

“Triple H has not contested a match in a WWE ring since he nearly ended The Undertaker’s winning streak at WrestleMania XXVII. So what better time for The Game to jump-start his 2011 season than at Night Of Champions this September? After all, he currently holds the WWE record with 13 World Championships and 23 total title reigns during his career. Other than the recently retired Edge, no other Superstar has ever worn that much gold around his waist. A title opportunity at NOC would bring The King of Kings one-step closer to becoming the greatest champion in WWE history.”

Steve Austin wrote the following on Twitter after filming began for his new WWE DVD yesterday at his ranch in Texas: “Had a great first day of Stone Cold DVD shoot today…I relived so many bumps today, I’m gonna be sore tomorrow…OH HELL YEAH!!!”

NEWS ON DVD ON HBK AND BRET HART

Jim Ross revealed on Twitter yesterday evening that he interviewed Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT for a new WWE DVD that will be coming out in October. Word going around is that the DVD will cover the Montreal Screwjob and the issues between Hart and Michaels.


Ross wrote:


“Spent 5 hrs 2day interviewing HBK & the Hitman 4 Oct DVD. No holds barred talk. Special day 4 me.”

JOHN CENA FEATURED ON CAPITOL PUNISHMENT DVD

John Cena is featured holding the American flag on the cover of the 2011 WWE Capitol Punishment DVD. The bonus feature on the DVD will be an exclusive Josh Matthews interview with Christian.

UPDATE ON REY MYSTERIO'S NEW DVD

Silvervision has confirmed that WWE’s upcoming “Rey Mysterio: The Life of a Masked Man” three-disc DVD set will have 2 matches from his ECW days, 6 matches from WCW and 12 matches from WWE.

SYNOPSIS FOR WWE'S GREATEST STARS OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM DVD

 Below is the synopsis for WWE’s Greatest Stars of the New Millennium, which comes out on Bluray and a three-disc DVD July 26th:


“The Greatest Stars of the New Millennium profiles 15 superstars that dominated the ring for the first decade of the 2000s. Each star is profiled and one of his greatest matches is included. Stars examined will include John Cena, Triple H, Undertaker, Randy Orton, Edge, Chris Jericho, Batista, and more. “

RANDY ORTON TALKS ABOUT HIS DVD

 Randy Orton noted on Twitter that his new WWE DVD will be coming out in September as of now. As noted before, the working title for the DVD had been “The Randy Orton Experience” but the latest word is that WWE had decided against that title.

*SPOILER* TRIPLE H TO LOSE AT WRESTLEMANIA?

 In WWE’s new DX DVD that comes out a few days after WrestleMania, there is a segment where Triple H and Shawn Michaels make fun of each other for losing to The Undertaker. Triple H noted that Taker always beat Shawn and when Shawn responded that Taker beat Triple H too, Triple H acted as if it’s something he’s tried to forget. While they don’t mention WrestleMania in the conversation, the impression given is that they were talking about the match at WrestleMania 27, not their previous match.

TRIPLE H ON THE STREAK

 Triple H actually says that The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak should never be broken on WWE’s new True Story of WrestleMania DVD.

JIM ROSS WILL BE WRITING A BOOK

 Jim Ross noted on his website that he has no book deal in place as of yet but the first book he writes will not be an autobiography. Ross says he is considering other, potential subjects to write on.
