Snyposis of Chris Jericho's New book

Chris Jericho’s second autobiography will be titled Highlight of the Night. No word yet on when it comes out in the United States but it will be released on September 16th, 2010 in Canada and February 17th, 2011 in the UK. Here’s the synopsis for the book:
“A Lion’s Tale documented Chris Jericho’s journey from small-time dreamer to big-time superstar, from Winnipeg, Canada, to undisputed WWE heavyweight champion of the world. Having achieved his wildest dreams in A Lion’s Tale, Chris Jericho’s sequel kicks off just as the fantasy begins to unravel. Faced with endless internal politics on his rise to the top of the WWE company ladder, Jericho has to draw on the super-human resources that got him there in the first place. There are bruising encounters aplenty both inside and outside the ring. He reveals why he temporarily left WWE, includes the inside story of his time in Hollywood, and opens the can of worms that is life on the road with Fozzy. He also re-visits the premature birth of his twins and the pain of his mother’s death, as well as the shock of Eddy Guerrero’s and the Benoit family deaths. As upfront and outspoken as A Lion’s Tale, the sequel is outspoken and direct as the man himself.”

Ron Simmons Retiring

Former WWE Superstar and WCW World Champion Ron Simmons will be wrestling his retirement match tonight in Cedartown, Georgia at the Historic Purks International Championship Wrestling show. Simmons will also be doing a Q&A with the first 100 fans that request admission after the show. Simmons will be inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame this year on February 20th.

Smackdown Report 2/5

We begin tonight’s show with a look back at Sunday’s Royal Rumble when Edge won the chance to main event Wrestlemania. What will happen when Edge has the World Champion on the Cutting Edge?

We are live on tape from Memphis, Tennessee and your announcers are Todd ‘What happened to Anfernee Hardaway’ and Matt ‘Do you know how many times Jerry Lawler lost a title in this town’ Striker.

We will have Elimination Chamber Qualifying Matches tonight, just like on Raw. We will also see exclusive footage of what happened after Raw went off the air.

Chris Jericho comes to the ring and he has something to say because he is not dressed to wrestle. Jericho tells everyone to be quiet so he can talk. He says that tonight was supposed to be his night. He should be the man standing victorious and triumphant as the 2010 Royal Rumble winner. However, he is not because it was taken away from him on Sunday. As a result, the main event at Wrestlemania was taken away from him. Jericho says that he has been waiting for that night since Wrestlemania 25. He has been planning this for ten months. However, that was taken away from him in ten seconds by one man. That man was Edge. Jericho says that Edge entered the match under false pretenses and was not announced for the match. He says that Edge did not deserve the win, while Jericho says that he deserved it. Jericho says that while Edge was at home recovering from a torn Achilles tendon for seven months, he has been carrying the company and filling arenas while winning championships. Now all people can talk about is the return of Edge. Jericho says that the fans fail to remember that Edge is a con artist just like everyone in the crowd. He says that Edge is the same man who has no heart, fire, or passion. He says that Edge was selfish enough to leave Jericho alone while they were tag team champions. Now Edge is wrestling in the main event while Jericho has nothing. Jericho says that he is too good to settle for nothing. He says that he does not settle for nothing. Jericho says that Teddy Long is making him qualify for the Elimination Chamber match because he does not qualify for anything. Jericho demands that Teddy Long come out to fix this situation.

Teddy Long does what any good obedient general manager would do, he ignores Jericho’s demands. Jericho says that if Teddy is not going to come out, he will go back to talk to Teddy. Jericho says that he is too valuable as he goes to the back.

Jericho wants to know where Teddy’s office is as he walks past the Hart Dynasty and backstage workers.

Jericho enters the office and there is someone reading a newspaper, but it isn’t Teddy Long, it is Edge. Edge says hello to Chris and then Edge is trying to remember where he saw that look on Chris’ face and he remembers that it was after Jericho was eliminated at the Royal Rumble. Edge tells Chris that he is the reason why he is back because Jericho lit a fire under him. Edge thanks Chris for creating a monster.

Jericho says that if he created the monster, he can slay the monster. Jericho tells Edge that he will regret coming back.

Edge tells Jericho that he will not regret it, Chris will be the one who regrets that Edge came back. Edge tells Jericho that he wants to celebrate by bringing back his show ‘The Cutting Edge’. Edge says that he will face a man he can meet at Wrestlemania and it is a man he has a past with. He is going to interview the Undertaker.

Jericho tells Edge that he will be watching.
