INSIDE OUT MOVIE STILLS

MOVIE REVIEW OF TRIPLE H'S INSIDE OUT

Variety and The New York Times have published new reviews on WWE Studios’ Inside Out with Triple H. Here are some highlights:

Variety:
“In its continuing quest to make Paul “Triple H” Levesque a viable movie star, WWE casts the hulking wrestler in yet another ex-con role in “Inside Out,” sandwiching him between Michael Rapaport and Parker Posey, arguably two of Hollywood’s quirkiest supporting players. But their flakiness effectively plays off the taciturn, muscle-bound Levesque, whose cliched choice to go straight or crooked, juxtaposed with Rapaport’s loose-cannon loquaciousness, turns moral questions into an entertaining vaudeville routine. Veering crazily in tone, “Inside Out” might fail to catapult its star into wider acceptability, but should delight fans of lightly absurd actioners upon its limited Sept. 9 release.”

The NY Times:
“If Paul Levesque, the professional wrestler better known as Triple H, hopes to follow the career path of, say, Dwayne Johnson, who is now a credible action-adventure leading man, he’s going to need movies a lot better than “Inside Out” to do it. Shooting for stoic, Mr. Levesque only delivers inert. And the plot devolves into a tangle of dithering story lines. The film could really have used some better-focused, more believable scripting. Perhaps for Mr. Levesque’s next project one of the “WWE SmackDown” writers will have some free time.”

WWE SUPERSTAR WANTS A WORLD TITLE SHOT BEFORE HIS RETIREMENT

SmackDown Superstar William Regal, who has been announcing and wrestling on NXT as of late, says he wants a World Heavyweight Title shot when WWE returns to Liverpool, England later this year. He wrote on Thursday:

“Trying to think if Teddy Long owes me a favour.I need to get a World Championship match on Smackdown on Liverpool. Maybe the last chance I have of becoming the first English World Champion in front of WWE’s loyalist fans.

Some people are saying I’m passed it.Maybe so but @WWE,look at it as charity.Give an old rogue a chance.”

Regal later re-tweeted a ton of feedback from fans supporting him getting a title shot and wrote:

“I normally never retweet about wrestling,WWE or me(I don’t need to because I’m so over anyway)so sorry to everyone who it’s driving mental. I just want @WWE to take notice.Give back to your loyalest fans(and purely selfish reasons as I want to be the first British World champ).”

At a live last November in the UK, Regal announced to the crowd that would be his last tour because he is retiring soon. Regal will apparently be sticking around long enough for this year’s tour, probably longer. Regal is under contract to WWE until 2014 and in addition to his recent work on NXT, he has worked as an announcer in FCW.

TRIPLE H TALKS ABOUT FILMING INSIDE OUT, KISSING SCENES

Triple H spoke with The Miami Herald this week to promote his new WWE Studios movie Inside Out. Here are a few highlights:

Stephanie McMahon’s reaction to his kissing scenes:
“When the kissing scene comes up, my wife just leaves the room. It would be very quiet for a long time. The [Triple H] kissing scenes don’t go over very big in my house.”

Filming Inside Out:
“Inside Out for me was a phenomenal experience because I worked with Michael Rapaport, Parker Posey, Julie White, Michael Cudlitz, Bruce Dern. That’s a pretty heavy duty list of very good actors. For me, shooting scenes with Bruce Dern was never-wracking. I’m sitting across from Bruce Dern, shooting a heated scene with him.”

Doing movies and wrestling:
“I’ve always said this. It’s never been my desire to necessarily go to Hollywood. When I did ‘Blade,’ I was offered a three-picture deal with New Line [Cinema], and I turned it down because I didn’t want to make movies and be a movie guy. I wanted to stay in the wrestling business. When [WWE Studios] offered me ‘The Chaperone’ [2011] and ‘Inside Out,’ I said, ‘Yes.’ They were good projects, and the timing worked right. I had the time off.”

“If another thing comes along, and it’s a great project, and I like the script, and I think I’d have fun doing it, I would do it. But am I knocking on somebody’s door? I’m not calling up the guys who run WWE Studios, saying, ‘Hey, guys, where’s my next movie?’ If it’s the right thing [with WWE Studios] and it’s the right time, great. If not, I’m cool with that, too. It’s a fun thing to do on the side.

MASON RYAN COPYING JERICHO'S ENTRANCE

During his entrance on Superstars, Mason came out to the stage and turned his back to the crowd, raising his hands in the air as he looked up to the Titantron. A fan showed Chris Jericho this on Twitter, saying Ryan was stealing Jericho’s entrance, and Jericho replied that Mason had “no respect.”

MASON RYAN DEBUTS WITH NEW THEME SONG

Mason Ryan debuted a new theme song called “Last Days” on this past Thursday’s WWE Superstars as he returned and defeated JTG. It appears WWE is going the babyface route with the former Nexus member.
