SUPERSTARS WHOS MAKING DEBUT IN WRESTLEMANIA 26

The following WWE Superstars will be making their WrestleMania debuts this coming Sunday night in Arizona: R-Truth, Jack Swagger, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, The Miz, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre and Serena. While The Miz did defend the WWE Tag Team Titles with John Morrison at last year’s WrestleMania, the match ended up being a DVD extra and this year’s match will be his WrestleMania TV debut.

AUSTIN HAD DINNER WITH LESNAR, WWE SIGN TNA VALLET

Steve Austin noted on Twitter that he had dinner with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar last night.
- WWE has signed Florida model Brittney Beede to a developmental deal as a ring announcer. Beede is now using the name Jamie Keyes and worked very briefly for TNA last year as the winner of Kevin Nash’s search for a new valet.

BATISTA VS CENA WILL CLOSE WRESTLEMANIA??

In an update on the closing moments of WrestleMania, it appears that John Cena vs. Batista will close the PPV based on the format of RAW and advertising/posters for WrestleMania. While this remains speculation, final decisions won’t be made until Sunday afternoon.

GOLDBERG SPEAKS ON ONE MORE MATCH IN WWE

After confirming negotiations with the World Wrestling Entertainment, Bill Goldberg has given us more insight as to what his internal goals are. “Is it out of the question for me to have one more match?” Goldberg wrote via Twitter. “Answer is no…my son has never seen me wrestle and I’d love to see his reaction.”
Goldberg originally made it known that he had been in negotiations with WWE Wednesday via his Twitter page. Goldberg commented on negotiations, and TNA’s lack of interest in bringing him in. Wednesday, Goldberg also mentioned his son as being the main reason he is open to a contract with the WWE.
JR also commented on the negotiations giving a little more detail as to what the negotiations could possibly mean. JR, who at one point, handled Talent Relations, new contracts, extending contracts, ect has a great deal of knowledge of what options Goldberg has in terms of a contract. If a deal is reached, the deal could possibly be for gaming rights, merchandise and possibly an in-ring return.
As of press time, no deal has been made but Goldberg has made it very clear he is very interested in a deal, but what that deal brings, remains to be seen.

JIM ROSS SPEAKS ON GOLDBERG NEGOTIATING WITH WWE, SHANE LINDA ON HALL OF FAME?

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at jrsbarbq.com. In this entry, Ross responds to a Twitter post made by former WWE & WCW Champion Bill Goldberg about negotiating with WWE and TNA “dropping the ball” on not signing him first. JR writes:
“Bill Goldberg reports that he is negotiating with WWE but my best guess is that it’s not about a return to the ring. Bill is a smart entrepreneur and the former Tulsa Edison and University of Georgia football star likely is looking at doing a marketing deal with WWE that might include video games, possible WWE HOF Induction next year in Atlanta, and merchandise sales.”
Despite the fact that Ross doesn’t believe Goldberg is negotiating to return to the ring on a full-time basis, he could see Goldberg getting back in the ring one more time if the right situation presented itself.
“After being involved in several of these type deals, I can see where both parties can benefit from an arrangement. Goldberg gets the opportunity to earn additional cash without putting his body through hell and he gets some nice exposure for his various TV vehicles. The WWE could monetize Goldberg’s likeness in a variety of ways. Is it possible for Goldberg to come back and perform in a ‘farewell bout’ in the Georgia Dome next year at WM27? It’s possible one has to assume.”

A lot of people within WWE are speculating this week if Linda and Shane McMahon will be at the Hall of Fame ceremony this Saturday night. Nobody knows for sure at last word.

WWE EXPECTING WRESTLEMANIA 26 TO BE THE MOST SUCCSESFULL PPV IN HISTORY, TRIPLE H WORKING WITH MDA

WWE officials are expecting this year’s Wrestlemania to be the most profitable pay-per-view in the company’s history.
This is the first Wrestlemania with an extra $5 added to the price tag in North America. There’s also no major celebrity appearance like Donald Trump or Floyd Mayweather that the WWE has to pay for. Additionally, the PPV is set to air in more markets than ever before.
While Wrestlemania 26 might not break the all-time WWE PPV buys record, many are expecting it to be the most profitable PPV.

Triple H was at the national headquarters for the Muscular Dystrophy Association earlier this week in Arizona. Triple H will be involved in the MDA’s new “Muscle” public service announcement campaign.

PUNK VS REY MYSTERIO PROMO

BACKSTAGE UPDATE ON REY PUNK FEUD

Dave Meltzer is reporting that one of the reasons why WWE decided against doing a CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio “hair vs. mask” match was because they felt it would be too predictable.  The creative team felt that fans wouldn’t believe Mysterio could possibly lose his mask since that’s his core identify. WWE felt that the fans would not want to see the match knowing that CM Punk would lose and get his head shaved.
The idea to use Rey Mysterio’s daughter, Alliyah,  was not WWE’s idea, but came from another wrestler. Alliyah really impressed WWE officials with her performance.
The Punk/Mysterio feud is expected to continue past Wrestlemania, depending on how long Mysterio can hold out on getting knee

BIG SPOILER ON WRESTLEMANIA OUTCOMES

– Drew McIntyre is booked for upcoming matches with Edge, so it appears that he is favorite to win the Money in the Bank ladder. Christian is considered a “dark horse” to win.
– Since WWE tends to alternate wins with their wrestlers, John Cena is the favorite to win at Wrestlemania since Batista won their match at Summerslam in 2008.
– The Undertaker is a favorite to win against Shawn Michaels, but the company could go in a different direction since they feel Undertaker winning is too predictable.

WWE NXT RATINGS DROPS DOWN

Tuesday’s WWE NXT on SyFy show averaged 1.08 million viewers, a drop of 7% from last week’s 1.162 million viewers. The cable rating was down from an 0.8 to 0.7.
Among adults 18-49, the show held steady at a 0.4.
Though the final number should be down a bit from last week, it is actually possible that a minute-by-minute analysis would reveal additional interest in this week’s show. Because so much of the show involved video packages, it is possible that a portion of the audience only tuned in for the opening match and main event.

GOLDBERG CONFIRMS NEGOTIATION WITH WWE

Former WWE and WCW Champion Bill Goldberg, who has not wrestled on the national wrestling scene since his infamous match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20 back in 2004, has announced on Twitter that he’s in negotiations with World Wrestling Entertainment:
“YES.. I am in negotiations with the WWE,” Goldberg wrote. “Looks like ‘ole Hogan and TNA missed the boat. Shame for the fans they didn’t even try.”
Goldberg has stated repeatedly during interviews that he has no interest in getting back in the ring, but has had a change of heart and “the door is open again.”
“Truth is I never thought I’d even consider it…then came my son,” Goldberg said. “No one said I’d wrestle but the door is open again. Also…. If I ever did step in the ring again, I have a new tag partner. He goes by the name of “Lights Out!!!! the one and only Shawn Merriman…..updating the old Goldberg/Kevin Greene duo.”
