WWE Champion Sheamus did an interview with Go386 hyping the WWE’s event in Daytona Beach this weekend. Here are some excerpts from the interview…
On Going to the Beach: We stay as far away from each other as possible. I like Daytona for the bikes, the Harleys.
On Being the First Irish-born WWE Champion: It means everything to me. I gave up a lot and sacrificed a lot to come to the U.S. to follow my dream. I was pretty serious as to what I wanted to do. You have to make your own opportunities. I was a little bit surprised at my quick success, but I knew if I got the opportunity I would take it. It’s a great honor. It’s opened up a lot of peoples’ eyes to the product and it has created a big following back home. It’s a dream come true.
Who’s the bigger threat, Randy Orton or The Miz? Once you become WWE champion, there’s a target on your back. Everyone wants the title. Orton is an extreme threat to me. He’s been champion multiple times. I’m better than anyone. I’m the best in the world. There’s a payback for The Miz coming. Maybe I’ll teach him a lesson in Daytona and put his (guaranteed title shot) suitcase away for good.
On His Future: The future is bright. It’s laced with gold. I want to make sure I’m the longest reigning WWE champion. With the truce with Nexus and Cena occupied, there’s no one to take me out. I’m here for the long term.

SHEAMUS TALKS ON BEING CHAMPION, RANDY ORTON AND MIZ, HIS FUTURE
SNYPOSIS AND COVER FOR JERICHO'S DVD
The first official DVD cover and synopsis for WWE’s new three-disc DVD set on Chris Jericho, which comes out on September 28th. The DVD is titled “Breaking The Code: Behind The Walls Of Chris Jericho.”
The WWE fans love to hate Chris Jericho. Throughout his remarkable career he has provided sports entertainment fans with amazing matches and astounding moments whether he was in Smokey Mountain Wrestling, ECW, WCW, and WWE. He’s also left his mark on the entertainment industry outside the ring, from his band Fozzy, writing a NY Times bestselling autobiography, through his appearances on VH-1′s “I Love…” shows and his role in the hit film “Magruber”. But his most famous moments are in sports entertainment, where Jericho has won multiple championships, including the WWE, World Heavyweight, a record number of Intercontinental titles, and the night when he defeated both the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin to become the first ever WWE Unified Champion. But Chris Jericho has never had his remarkable career highlighted in a DVD set until now. This 3-disc release will include a never-before-seen documentary on the life and times of Jericho featuring new candid interviews with Jericho and his rivals, as well as more than a dozen of his greatest matches.

Justin Roberts interviewed Randy Orton, who responded to Sheamus’s promo by saying he gave Triple H a six-week vacation by kicking him in the skull. Orton invited Sheamus to ringside to watch his match against Miz. He said the good news for Sheamus is that he will beat Miz so bad that he won’t be able to cash in his MITB contract. He said the bad news is that it will be Sheamus’s turn for the beating in two weeks.

SMACKDOWN SPOILER 7/30
The crew is setting up for Smackdown by placing a black carpet in the ring with a casket. Does this mean Undertaker is returning tonight?
Kane sat in the middle of the ring with the casket. A video recapped last week’s show and Rey Mysterio becoming No. 1 contender. He said he sits by Undertaker everyday waiting for him to awake. He said he moved and opened his eyes for the first time yesterday. Kane said Undertaker also spoke. He said Taker could only say two words, which were the name of the person who attacked him.
Kane said anger went through his body when he heard the name. He said he couldn’t believe that Rey Mysterio was the person who attacked his brother. He said Rey’s name hangs in the air like a demon. He asked why Mysterio would do it.
Kane said beating Mysterio at SummerSlam won’t be enough. He said Kane must pay for his sins and experience what Undertaker endured. He said he will stuff Kane inside the casket. The lights went out and Kane was still in the ring with the casket to close the segment…
It was announced that Mysterio would face Jack Swagger in a No DQ match…
1. Christian defeated Drew McIntyre. McIntyre set up Christian for his finisher and had the arms hooked for the DDT, but Christian countered with a small package out of nowhere for the win.
Layla will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Tiffany later tonight…
Cody Rhodes delivered grooming tips. He was wearing an avocado face mask. He said he was bringing us one step closer to being dashing…

He complained about Joey Mercury losing his mask. He said none of them would be anything without him. He pleaded with them to actually do something and said they should pack their bags if they don’t. Awesome heel promo from Punk…
2. Big Show beat Luke Gallows by DQ. There was a funny spot where Show called for the ring announcer to put the mic next to Luke’s chest before he chopped it. This was probably during the commercial break. In the end, the rest of SES jumped Show for the DQ. They continued to attack Show and did a spot with the ring steps that left Show lying. Punk removed his sling to show that his arm is fine.
3. Kofi Kingston beat Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) by DQ. Vickie slapped Ziggler. Kofi flipped and was disqualified. Referees had to come out to restrain Kofi, who wouldn’t stop attacking Ziggler…
Jack Swagger was interviewed backstage and said he wasn’t in the mood for stupid questions. He said he’s going to beat up Rey, break his arms, and throw him in the Gulf of Mexico…
Vickie Guerrero came out and announced that Michelle McCool would replace Layla in the match against Tiffany. Vickie had more heat than I’ve ever heard in my life. The match is still for the WWE Women’s Championship.
4. Michelle McCool (w/Layla) defeated Tiffany (w/Kelly Kelly) to retain the WWE Women’s Championship. Layla interfered in the match, which set up McCool getting the win.
Afterward, Teddy Long came out and said there only needs to be one women’s champion. He said they can decide for themselves or he will make the decision next week. McCool and Layla argued over the title belts…
5. Rey Mysterio fought Jack Swagger to a no-contest in a No DQ match. They battled outside the building. Rey hit a huracanrana that caused Swagger to fall into the water. Rey turned around and Kane grabbed him by the throat and chokeslammed him into the water to end Smackdown.

NXT AS ON JULY 27
We are live from Corpus Christi, Texas and your announcers are Josh ‘I get to talk to real people, not a computer’ Mathews and Michael ‘Who is the NXT general manager’ Cole.
The pros are on the stage and it is time to go to Matt Striker, who is in the ring. The rookies come to the ring. Matt mentions that one of the seven men in the ring will be gone at the end of the night. Matt reminds everyone that the poll is a combination of the WWE Universe and the NXT Pros.
Matt says that most of them will be able to prove themselves physically, but now it is time to prove themselves verbally. They will have a minute to talk about anything other than why they shouldn’t be eliminated.
Lucky Cannon goes first and his topic is friends. He says that he didn’t have a lot of friends growing up. When he did well in school and sports, nobody seemed to care. When he was hurt and down, nobody really cared about him. Now that he is this close to making it into the WWE, people seem to care. He says that he lost a childhood friend. Thanks to nobody, he has become a somebody.
Eli Cottonwood is next and his topic is eyes. He says that there is something that I can do that nobody else in the ring can do. There is something I can do that nobody in the arena can do. There is something that I can do that nobody else in the WWE Universe can do. He can look in the eyes of the giant. He can also look in the eyes of the Dead Man . . . The Undertaker.
Husky Harris is next and his topic is husky. He says that he sees a bunch of big bodies, abs, and tans. They look like Tarzan and they fight like Jane. Husky says that if you want to know about him, you can ask MVP. He says that he is like a tank with a Ferrari engine.
Kaval’s topic is dreams. He asks if anyone had a dream that it hurt. He says that he had a dream in Brooklyn to fight on the greatest stage. There were people who told him that he didn’t have what it took. He says that he fought for a decade as Low Ki and he says that it wasn’t about the size of the fighter, but the size of the fight.
Michael McGillicutty is not going to give his topic. Michael mentions that he won the challenge last week so he is the man to beat. He talks about the video package where the pros commented on his progress. He says that it was good except for one man. Michael asks Miz if he called him mediocre. Miz says that he did and he meant it. Michael wants to show Miz that he is mediocre and that Michael is the one who is awesome.
Miz tells McGillicutty to talk to him when he gets a Raw or Smackdown contract.
Alex Riley’s subject is Starbucks. Alex says that if it was up to the pros or anyone with an education, he would have won by a country mile. Since it is being decided by the democracy of dorks, he is competing with a man trying out for the voice of God or as a poor man’s Eddie Murphy. Alex says that he is the sun of the NXT galaxy. He says that everything revolves around him and there are no stars around, just a bunch of Star . . . bucks.
Percy Watson’s topic is having a good time. Percy says that people tell him that he always talks about having a good time. Percy says that life is hard and you have to work hard to get where you are in life. He says that his motto is work hard, but play harder. He says that life is short so you need to shake and groove.
It is time for a video package on Percy Watson. MVP says that Percy has a lot of showmanship. Henry says that he wants to see what is next from Percy. They talk about the connection he has with the crowd. Miz mentions that Percy has no lenses in his glasses so why is he wearing them. Cody says that under the surface is a solid athlete. Zack doesn’t get him. Miz says that you need to be serious in the ring. Porter says that if he shows the dedication, he will teach Percy. Cody says that Percy has more going for him than glasses and a goofy smile.

We see the problems that Eli had with the course. John starts to laugh and Eli says that he isn’t an acrobat. Morrison says that people are calling him Eli Rottonwood. He says that Kaval is not noticeable. Michelle and Layla mention that Kaval was number one. Husky wants to know if Kaval is going to let his girlfriends do all of the talking. Kaval says that he lets his talking take place in the ring. Husky says that if Kaval brings that intensity to the ring, he will have fun in the ring. Harris with the Fat Boy Senton for the three count.
Winner: Husky Harris
After the match, Matt Striker comes out and he wants the pros to tabulate their votes so we can find out which rookie gets to take the walk of shame (until they form a group of their own after the end of Season Two?).
We go to commercial.
We are back and more people watched NXT than a lot of other networks’ shows.
We see the Raw Rebound featuring on the split among the CenArmy (or is it JeriChORPS)
Time to run through the card for SummerSlam.
We go to commercial and it is nail biting time for all of the rookies except Michael McGillicutty.
We are back and it is time for the moment that you have been waiting for. Who joins Titus O’Neil in NXT Limbo?
The rookies are at ringside.
Matt says that only one can win NXT and earn a title match on pay per view. Matt also tells us that the rookie at the bottom of the poll will be eliminated, that is unless Michael McGillicutty finishes in seventh.
The new poll is ready.
In first place is Michael McGillicutty. He is followed by Kaval in second place. Third place is Alex Riley.
Fourth place is Percy Watson. Fifth place goes to Lucky Cannon.
That means that Husky Harris or Eli Cottonwood will be eliminated.
The man in sixth place is Husky Harris so Eli Cottonwood is eliminated.
Matt asks Eli if he has anything to say before he takes the walk of shame and turns in his knives. Eli decides to attack Husky Harris and some of the other rookies join in the attack while Kaval and McGillicutty watch from a distance. Eli walks up the ramp and Morrison tries to calm him down and he pushes Morrison.
Matt asks Husky if there is anything that is not connecting with the WWE Universe. Husky says that they have seen the warpath he has made over the last few weeks. He says that it is his competition to win.
Matt asks Micahel what it feels like to be number one. Michael says that he came here to win NXT. He is on the right path. Michael says that he will not lose on NXT and he will become a World Champion.
Matt asks if he was concerned about Eli jumping him. Alex says that he is a better athlete than Eli and he knows that he is better than Michael and Kaval. He says that he will be number one.

GOLDBERG TO HAVE ONE LAST MATCH
In an interview with the San Diego Union-Tribune, Bill Goldberg said he wants one final wrestling match since he wants his family to see him wrestle live.
“If the money was right, I’d go out there and do it in two seconds,” Goldberg said. “I’d have to be totally prepared for it, because I wouldn’t want to tarnish my image, but I’d like to be in the ring one more time so that my wife and my son can see me wrestle live.”
Goldberg also discussed his love/hate relationship with the wrestling industry in the interview, “I don’t ever want to say that I miss anything about the wrestling business. I miss the ability to put a smile on a kid’s face, more than one at a time. That was a true charge for me.”
HEAT BETWEEN SHAWN MICHAELS AND VINCE MCMAHON
There may be some tension right now between Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels. According to Dave Meltzer, McMahon recently made the decision to have the announcers no longer refer to Shawn Michaels on TV. Additionally, there is to be no footage of him shown on WWE television.
Reports are circulating about what the reason for the heat between the two is. Word is that Michaels was very unhappy about the Bryan Danielson situation. It’s also believed that McMahon is still upset that Michaels decided to reture, as McMahon felt Michaels could give him a few more years. Michaels is said to be very distances from wrestling these days.

Henry ended up landing hard on his shoulder and back. It is unknown how serious the injury to Henry is, but it was serious enough that he had to miss the following night’s NXT taping.

PLANS FOR UNDERTAKER VS KANE AT SUMMERSLAM
At the Smackdown tapings this week, Rey Mysterio became the #1 contender for Kane’s World Heavyweight Title. The reason for the Kane vs. Mysterio matchup at Summerslam, which will take place August 23, and not a Kane vs. Undertaker match is because The Undertaker still isn’t 100% recovered from his latest injury.
It’s always possible that Undertaker could be added to the Summerslam match in a triple threat, but if the current plan is for Kane to face Undertaker at Night of Champions in September.
MIZ ON WINNING THE MONEY IN THE BANK, HE IS FEELING LIKE THE ROCK
The following is an excerpt from a recent interview with WWE Superstar The Miz from The Examiner Of Beaumont:
Coming over from reality television, how were you received in the WWE locker room?
“Everyone hated me. It felt like I had to walk on eggshells and everyone was waiting for me to do something wrong. It was a different locker room back then and it wasn’t very fun for me, but I wanted to stick with it.”
Now you have some gold around your waist. Have you arrived?
“Even right now, I think I am progressing. I honestly feel like the Rock going from the WWE to the movies. He had to make an incredible transition where he’s no longer known as The Rock, but Rock the movie star. Granted, I love the reality stuff I’ve done and had a blast doing it, but I don’t want to be known as that guy, I want to be known as a WWE superstar. I am not at the level I want to be at. I don’t think I have arrived yet. When I arrive, that’s when I am on every WWE poster and every time you turn it on Raw, you just want to see what The Miz is going to do. Winning the U.S. title puts you into a category with the likes of Bret Hart, John Cena, Curt Henning, Eddie Guerrero, Lex Luger, Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes and Stone Cold Steve Austin. For me to hold that title in the ring and get to say “I’m The Miz and I’m awesome’ in front of millions, it gives you goose bumps.”
You were a mentor in the first season of NXT, now your back in the second season as a pro for Alex Riley.
“He has the talent, the charisma and is very physically fit. He looks and acts the part. I think he has the ability to do something big in the WWE. I just wish the WWE Universe would get on his bandwagon. The problem is the Universe likes good, cool guys who ask them what they think.”

TRIPLE H OUT OF FEW MONTHS, POSSIBLE COMEBACK AT LATE 2010
Triple H underwent surgery for a torn triceps earlier this month. The injury should keep him out of action until the end of the year. Meltzer stated that Triple H could be out until October or December depending on how fast he is able to recover.
Triple H tried to keep the surgery quiet, but his surgery was leaked by Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Dirk Hayhurst, which we reported last week.
Triple H’s surgery was to repair a torn tendon in his arm, but it isn’t known whether it was a torn tendon in his biceps or triceps. Triple H’s return was originally planned for SummerSlam, but the injury ended up being worse than anticipated. Triple H is also suffering from a neck injury as well.
WHY KANE BECAME THE WORLD CHAMPION
Kane was awarded the WWE World Heavyweight Championship partly due to the belief that he will be retiring in the near future. With his win at Money in the Bank, Kane also set a record for having the longest period of time between World title reigns at 12 years. The previous record was set by Bob Backlund, who lost the WWE Title in 1983 and won it again in 1994.
